How to Add Engines to Vehicles Hey guys, in this tutorial, I will be showing you how to add an engine to the car of your choice. Important information before you install:You will need to replace your car's .sfx file with another car's. The SFX file holds one engine's sounds, so if you try to switch the engines in game, you will not hear the one you switched to, only the sounds that the SFX holds. If you decide to switch engines, you will have to exit the game, and swap the .sfx files. After you have completed Step One, make sure you backup the replaced .sfx file somewhere easy to access, just in case if you want to switch back to another engine.***BACKUP IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR YOUR CAR'S .sfx FILE***We are going to use the Project D: Toyota JZX100 Chaser's 400ps 1JZ, and will add it to the Project D: Toyota Corolla AE86 (not the GT-S).1. First, we will open up both the JZX100 and AE86 directory, and locate the .ini file with the engine name and PS/HP. Here, the 400ps 1JZ is the "pd2_1JZ_400ps.ini" file as you can see below. Copy and Paste it into the AE86 directory so we can have all of the engine information (codes for RPMs and such) so the engine is functional.2. Now that we have the engine file in the directory, we want to move the AE86 sfx file another place. ***PLEASE BACKUP YOUR CAR'S .sfx FILE (AS IT WILL BE REPLACED) SOMEWHERE EASY TO ACCESS SUCH AS YOUR DESKTOP*** If you have not read the important information above, please do now before you proceed.
Put it in a folder or on your Desktop:
3. Since we have the AE86.sfx backed up, we can now copy and paste the JZX100_Chaser.sfx into the AE86 directory, and rename it to the AE86's replaced .sfx file name which was AE86.sfx.Move: Rename: 4. Finally, the upgrades. We want to add the engine upgrade lines to the AE86's upgrade file. Just simply copy and paste the engine lines from the JZX100 upgrades file, to the AE86's.Copy it over to the AE86's upgrades file. *Under the engines level.
Hey! We're done! We now have a 400ps 1JZ Toyota Corolla AE86.
