Disclaimer: By entering Driftbox you have agreed to reading all these rules and fully understanding them. Any actions that break the rules will not be tolerated and if a ban is served it’s not the Admins fault that you didn’t read the rules.
Section 1 - General Server Rules:
I) DO NOT use headlights. They crash the server, as well as member’s games. It's not fun restarting rFactor, if you’d like to give way, or let someone go please use your horn. You will be banned immediately if you do not follow this rule.
II) Apply common sense to every situation and treat the game like you would in real life.
III) Do not use the D1AS BMW E30, or the PD Nissan Skyline R34-2. These crash people’s games. You will be banned immediately if you do not follow this rule.
IV) Do not use private mods on the server. This can cause crashes. If you would like your mod to be supported, please submit it to an admin for consideration.
V) Speak English in the server just as you would on the group and forum.
VI) Respect the admins and their decisions. They are there to keep peace, remain neutral in situations and to clean up the bad drifters and rule breakers among us. If you do not agree with their decision, take note of their name and post in the forum, the Facebook group or the Facebook like page.
Section 2 - Pitlane Rules:
I) Give way to the car already on the pit road.
II) Look before leaving your pit box, if you haven’t got your look left and right keys setup then we suggest you do.
III) Absolutely NO drifting, doughnutting, crashing, ramming and or pushing in the pits. Doing any of these may result in a kick and persistent rule breakers will be banned.
IV) When exiting the pit lane, please take time to look, if you can’t see use an alternative camera view to make a safe exit.
V) After leaving the pitlane if it has a long exit road use it to build up speed to merge into the traffic taking caution for cars already on track. E.g. Winton GP and Ruapuna Park.
Section 3 - Tandem Rules:
I) Such as Section 4 Rule V, please do not wait for people in dangerous places.
II) If you want to tandem with someone please be aware of those around you. Try to be smooth with your movements such as steering and braking. Be aware your taillights won’t be as visible for those following.
III) Please be aware of those with lower horsepower, and budget tires and adjust yourself accordingly to them.
IV) If you are following a slower car and getting frustrated, then back off and give him room then continue on.
V) Try to avoid heavy knocks as this can upset the lead car and then everyone else following. Especially if the car is drifting the outside as dropping one wheel can really hurt a drift.
Section 4 - Track Rules:
I) When drifting on track, be aware of those around you and those ahead of you.
II) If you spin out, please be aware of other cars approaching your zone and use common sense to pull out where sensible.
III) When you spin, please DO NOT keep your foot on the throttle filling yourself with smoke making you hard to see. This is a danger to you and other drivers.
IV) If someone spins ahead of you, please use your common sense to decide whether to straighten up or keep drifting. If it’s safer to keep drifting e.g. running in a train, then keep going. If it’s just you and you are close to hitting him, let off the throttle and straighten up to pass safely.
V) Trying to catch someone? Don’t wait in the middle of the track, or just over the grass. Please use common sense and sit somewhere no one will possibly go. E.g. First turn of Hidden Valley DO NOT sit on the extra tarmac up against the armco as you will be hit since this is a common rear clip.
VI) Same as the pit lane rule, no doughnutting, crashing or ramming deliberately on track. If someone rams you, just keep your cool and proceed on wards. If an admin is around, make them aware of the person’s actions, and continue.
VII) If your car breaks for whatever reason, engine or tire. Pull off the drifting line and out the way to allow others to pass. If you are going back to the pits to get new tires, keep your speed down so you do not spin.
VIII) Section 3 Rule IV, if someone is slowing off, make the decision to pass safely or slow off behind them.
IX) Run all tracks the correct way except those listed in Section 5. Take note to the way people are already running and follow suit.
Section 5 - Track Section Rules:
I) When running sections run them sensibly, take note of all rules above and apply them here.
II) Be patient when running sections, it will involve a lot of waiting and queuing, be aware of the tires not being heated fully too upon initiations.
III) It’s not a race into turn one of the section, be sensible, be aware people will feint from the opposite side of the track, leave them a gap.
IV) If needed, play it safe on your run, no one is judging you for not ripping a backwards at Road Atlanta.
V) If running a touge run it one way for example Akina Downhill, go down and then push ESC to go back to the pits, do not attempt to re run back up.
IV) Specific track rules:
Road Atlanta: Run from the first cone at the tire down the hill and back again. Right side will lead into the turn with the full throttle cone being at the end of the tires. When coming back up the hill after drifting slow off and use the grass to allow others to go. Be careful when turning and queuing.
Silverstone (Northamptonshire National): Run from the bridge on club straight, into brooklands and transition into luffield and slow up after exiting luffield. Be careful of cars queuing and run in a pack all together, so if people are already on club straight, wait for them to come back to the pits.
Long Beach: We all know the Formula D section, try to run in twos and either turn into the pit lane, keep right and go back through the gap in the wall, or do a lap back to the section, either way, take care when using the gap in the pitlane wall and watch for other cars oncoming.
Odaiba: Self explanatory, run in twos around the section, slow off in the pit lane and be careful of cars queuing.
Sears Point Drift: Run in twos and wait for them to return before leaving for the next set of cars.
St. Eustache: A lot of different ways to run this such as running the track in laps OR running the long initiation point that is past turn one, and find the cone. Run this in packs, or tandems but BE CAREFUL of those doing laps as you will be going a heck of a lot quicker into your first turn than they will be. After running once past the pits, go left into the first turn and continue up to the oval part of St. Eustache and run the banking, then make your way to the start cone again.
Victoriaville: The queue area here is VERY small, so be sensible, pick a side and wait. Either run the first turn long and loop back, or cut it short and go in. Whatever you choose watch what others are doing first before doing so.
